Five minutes a day, one number at a time

Numbersaurus teaches children aged 3 to 6 to count, and gives every number a true Islamic meaning: one is Allah, five is the pillars, seven is the heavens. Open it at numbers.iqrasaurus.com on a phone, tablet or class screen. There is no login.

The five minutes

  1. 1. Meet itSay the number and what it means. Each card has a one-line script for you, the grown-up.
  2. 2. Count itYour child taps to count on the screen, then shows it on their fingers.
  3. 3. Do itOne small thing to do together: count dates, walk seven circles, wash three times.
  4. 4. Tell itYour child tells someone what the number is for, and you sing its two-line chant.

When all four are done, the number becomes an egg in your child's nest.

At home

  • Tap Today and “Bismillah, let's begin”. One new number opens each day.
  • Missed a day? Nothing is lost. The nest only ever grows.
  • Each child can have their own nest: choose who's learning in Settings.
  • Earned numbers can be practised again any time.

In class

  • Open Class on the projector and press Full screen.
  • Use ← and → to move between numbers.
  • Children take turns to come up and tap one egg each while everyone counts aloud.
  • Finish with the chant, then hand out that number's worksheet.

Printing

Print has a free A4 black-and-white pack for 1 to 10 and 11 to 20: a sheet per number (trace, count and circle, colour, draw) and matching sheets. The colour poster of 1 to 10 opens after a short sign-up.

Please tell us

At the end of each number there is a one-tap question: Did your child enjoy it? Add a sentence if something worked well or didn't. Which numbers children repeat at home without being asked is the most helpful thing you can tell us.

Every meaning comes from the Quran (with the ayah), sahih or hasan hadith, the agreed seerah, a Quran fact, or what Muslims do, and each card is reviewed before it is published. No numerology.

Progress stays on your device. We only count which numbers are used, never who uses them.
